Osteopaths study for 4 – 5 years covering not only the core subject but also anatomy, physiology, pathology and psychology. We are trained to diagnose the many causes of muscle, joint and other pain and to recognise whether the problem is not amenable to our type of treatment. If this is the case, we refer patients for further investigation as required. All osteopaths must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council. Only those who have shown themselves to be fully competent are entitled to go on the register. HOW ARE OSTEOPATHS TRAINED AND REGULATED?
