Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment of physical ailments that deals with all the individual parts of the body and how they interact and work together. It involves looking at the body as a whole and detecting and treating damaged or dysfunctional elements such as muscles, joints or nerves. When the body is balanced with all parts working at their best there is less wear and stress and more importantly less pain and disability.

It is our job as osteopaths to achieve this balance by relieving problem areas and enhancing the bodies own capacity for self maintenance. Our aim is to restore the bodies own ability to heal itself by removing the obstacles to good health.

Osteopathic treatment involves the practitioner using there hands in order to adjust the function of individual parts of the body, for example by strengthening or stretching small muscles in the lower spine to make the patient’s back more flexible thus alleviating pain. WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY? PR
